Town Hall Place

Town Hall Place is home to seven individual multi-use retail units available to rent within a brand new building in the historic heart of Tamworth town centre.

Managed and owned by Tamworth Borough Council, Town Hall Place is designed to encourage the start-up and growth of independent and creative businesses in the town.

This attractive building is in a prime footfall spot, directly opposite the historic Tamworth Town Hall and near to Tamworth Castle. Its stunning arch design and brickwork is inspired by local heritage features.

A range of unit sizes are available, from approximately 140 sq ft to 350 sq ft.

Rents are competitive, with flexible ‘easy in, easy out’ terms to offer new and growing businesses an affordable way to test their retail models and the market.

Town Hall Place was made possible thanks to funding from the Future High Streets Fund, which is ring-fenced money to improve the high street.

The widespread community engagement that informed the funding bid called for more niche independent businesses.

Town Hall Place aims to answer that request. Interested businesses will therefore be assessed to ensure they are local, independent, high-quality and bring something new to the high street.

• Rents are affordable and competitive, paid one month in advance with one-month deposit required
• Flexible licence periods of six months, with the ability to give notice within agreed notice periods, penalty-free
• Applicants will be assessed to make sure they are independent, local, and bring something new to the town
• Additional business growth support will be offered to tenants from the council’s economic development team
• New tenants will be able to create a community, with opportunities to collaborate on town centre events and promotions
• All units will be finished to a high quality, complete with lighting, glazing, doors, power, finished walls and floor
• There will be shared delivery, toilet, waste and rubbish collection facilities
